Chuang Ho
Animation Artist
CHUANG Ho was born in New Taipei and lives and works in Taipei City currently. He graduated from the Department of Digital Media Design at Asia University in 2009, and later earned his Master's degree in New Media Art from National Taipei University of the Arts in 2014. In 2008, he first attempted to create a hand-drawn animation, titled Human Subjective. The project ended up winning the Gold Award in the Digital Animation Design category at the 1st Taiwan International Student Design Competition. During his master's studies, CHUANG went through a period of doubt and reflection about his animation. This led to several experimental works, such as Animachine. He resumed creating animated shorts in 2012. His short animation film A time and A Place won the Best Animation Award in the 36th Golden Harvest Awards for Student Films in 2013. His spatial installation work Outside was selected for the National Art Exhibition R.O.C. in 2014. In 2019, he was selected for the 7th Nakanojo Biennale (Gunma, Japan), where he presented the animated installation work Into the Mountain. In 2021, he participated in the 8th Nakanojo Biennale (Gunma, Japan). In 2022, his solo exhibition See the Sea was held at the Project Seek of Hong Foundation (Taipei, Taiwan), and he was also selected to participate in the Tianmei Art Foundation's Taiwan Contemporary Artists Overseas Visit Program No.7 - Venice.Kassel.Berlin. In 2023, he exhibited in Here is where we meet at Chiayi Art Museum (Chiayi, Taiwan), C-LAB Future Media Arts Festival FUTURE VISION LAB 2023 at the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (Taipei, Taiwan), and the artist residency for the 9th Nakanojo Biennale (Gunma, Japan).
